Monday, March 31st, 2008

Mood: Happy                      Music: "Umbrella" by Terence Ho

Whoa, yesterday was nicely filled with activities man.

Went to church for service in the morning. Was the back-up singer. Pastor David Goh gave us a really stirring message that got me pondering. Although it ended at 1.30pm, it did not felt like a long service at all.

Had a quick lunch at the mamak nearby and did some finalizing and labelling to my msg. at 3ish, I had to speak at the Nepalese Service. I spoke about The Future: What’s Install? Had a good time with the bunch as they were quick receptive. Ended around 4ish and went str8 home.

Brought the youths out for steamboat at Menjalara for a post-Easter celebration because they really came a long way and did an excellent job during the performance last week. Thought we had a good celebration today. Dinner was on me.

We were there for 2 hours str8 just eating and chatting and left about 8ish for 1Utama for bowling. To our surprise, discovered talents along the way. some of the young ones can really bowl wei! It was great seeing the young ones bonding thru a frenly match.

We left at 10pm but the day din’t seem finish cause some of us had urges for ice-cream. 1Utama was pretty much close then so we decided to stop by McD at my area there for ice-cream Sundae. Ooo…la…la…

I was so beat-up by then i literally went flat on the bed. Got up this morning to get my car-break fixed, send dad to the airport, finish up some paper work for the production and here I am updating my bloggie! Phew…what a day!

Mood: Calm      Music: "Various Musical Numbers" by "The Broken Jukebox"

Who would have thought BUNNY would be a counselor when it comes to heartfelt? It was definitely a hit on my ego as he slowly weave the Parable Of The Richman & The Poor Woman to my soul.

He (or "it) was definitely a God sent messenger. I felt so much at ease and relief after talking to him and boy, I have to admit (bitting my tongue) that bunny is such an adorable fren.

Gave him a good hug and think I can move on from now…

Mood: Accomplished           Music: "Fly" by Hillary Duff

And it finally came to pass. After all the long hours of rehearsals, muscle pulling, brain squeezing, aching…WE ALL DID IT. Lazarus & R.I.O.T was truly an amazing journey for everyone that was involved. Discovered hidden talents and managed to raise up talents as well. I’m especially very proud of each and every individual that committed their energy, time, patience and focus to this production. I believe God is very pleased.

No time to relax now…on with our NEXT "PROJECT" (chuckles)

We had two shows in church, one for the morning service and the other is for the Nepalese Service. Stayed a while longer to celebrate Seahorse’s b’day and then took an hour nap b4 we head out to King Crab in Kelana Jaya to celebrate Grandpa’s b’day! Truly a day of CELEBRATION huh including our Lord’s resurrection!

Da meal was absolutely festive and delicious. We had 2 types of crab (Kam Hiong & Butter Milk), century egg spinach soup, soya steam garoupa, guiness pork and giant prawn peas!

We had dinner till 8ish, mom felt that the nite was still oung and suggested we go for a movie in 1Utama. Din’t know what was on till we got there. Thank goodness there was no long queues! The only show that kinda caught our attention was An Empress & Her Generals starring Kelly Chen, Donny yen and Leon Lai (he still looks good after all these years)…

It was a nice story, with occasional heart-warming dialogues and moments.Other than that, nothing that special but I was indeed observing the cinematography lar, it blew me off! Darn, I so need to get a life! 8/10 ler…

Mood: Exstatic            Music: "Feedback" by Janet Jackson

So I was driving mom home from church after our Good Friday celebration and my tummy was giving signs of hunger. She on the other hand was rather thirsty.

Decided that we make a stop at McD near our area there for a light drive-thru supper. It was like almost mid-nite and boy was that area packed with youngsters (not that I’m old!) chilling and stuffing themselves with carbs!

As we were waiting for our turn to order, I asked mom what she would like and to my utter surprise, she asked for SOYA BEAN…

Adrian: What? Hello…MCD where got sell Soya Bean. Siao ar?

Mom: Who say?

Adrian: As far as I am aware, MCD does not sell Soya Bean ok!

Mom: Please lar, that only shows how outdated you are! They promote in newspaper somemore, Nesvitite Soya Bean…

Adrian: (still in denial) Crazy…

Mom: Come on lar, if McD can sell porridge, what makes you think they can’t sell Soya Bean? I tell you, sooner or later they will sell Nasi Goreng!

(as mother and son approaches  the ordering machine)

Malay Male: Yea…sila order pesanan?

Adrian: Give me satu Spicy MvChicken Deluxe McValue Meal…

Malay Male: Besar atau regular?

Adrian: Regular…

Malay Male: Lagi?

Adrian: Ade Soya Bean ar?

Malay Male: Ade!

(speechless)…

WEEK OF VOLUNTEERY & SCRIPT READING RETREAT!

Friday, March 7th, 2008

Mood: Satisfied            Music: "Play" by Britney Spears

The arts community has been very busy during the past weeks with the coming general elections. I was given an opportunity to hop on the bandwagon as a volunteer with campaigning work. From videographing, to making buzz and clipping posters to hanging posters to photographing and uploading, it was truly an eye-opener. Glad to meet new friends along the way especially other young ppl around who cares bout the country. Mark was a great leader and he made the transition easy for me during the last 3 dayz. Tiring but I had a good time. Thankz Mark!

Then came our March 06′ Script Reading Retreat which happened for 2 dayz 1 nite in Serendah.I really enjoyed this first-time getaway with my coursemates. Crazy bunch alrite. The only downside to the trip was that we had to babysit some kids which kinda annoy me off and on. Nevertheless, we got work done and that was all that matters. Had a bit of trouble with our dinner for that nite but it was solved in a matter of 1 hour and 45 minutes. Don’t ask!

Altogether, we read 6 scripts together and I’m glad I’m exposed to more scripts now although all of them were western plays. Gotta have another meeting to nail down that one play that we like to do for our graduation production! fingers crossed.

I also would like to thank God for leading us there safely and smoothly. I mean, i really did not know how to get there cause ONE, I’m not an outstation driver and TWO, I was a passenger the last time I was there like about 2 months ago. And miraculously, I led the whole pack there without complications! Fooyoh!
