AT WORLD’S END: KNOW YOUR PIRATES!

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

Mood     : Awesome                        Music     : "Finally" by Fergie

8.5/10 for Pirates Of The Caribbean 3: At World’s End. Thought it was an impressive wrap-up and I really enjoyed the epic-proportion storyline. Is good to see Asian faces in Hollywood movies as well. Go Asia…

Ok, some pointers. This is one heavy movie so you must know your Pirates well. I mean really well from Curse Of The Black Pearl and Dead Man’s Chest. Particularly Pirates 2, you have to know beginning till the end because in Pirates 3, they assume you know your stuff so they won’t repeat or refresh your memory on the things they dealt with in the previous movie.

Next, EVERY main and supporting characters has a story and I mean EVERYONE of them. So listen well and listen good to the dialogues. Some stories are a follow-up to the previous one while others are newly introduced in this one. Gotta be alert. Some puzzles are solved in a matter of 3 sentences while others will keep you waiting till half or three quarters of the show later before it is revealed. So yea, it keeps you anticipating and thinking.

Can’t mention any of it cause it will so spoil the fun but guaranteed revelational satisfaction by the time the movie ends. Hmm…dunno if I should be kind to mention this BUT…hmm…err…ARGH, might as well make your ticket money more worth it. STAY BACK FOR THE CREDITS! (Wink…wink)

ENJOY :p

THE HILLS HAVE EYES 2 WAS…

Mood     : Urgh                                Music     : "Ring The Alarm" by Beyonce Knowles

Thought I could get a good haircut today so I made a phone call to the saloon to make sure my stylist was there. Nobody picked up the phone so I thought the people there could be busy. Went to 1Utama anywayz and who knew the saloon was actually undergoin renovation. Was rather dissapointed so I went for a light shoppin spree and got myself Beyonce’s Deluxe Edition B’day Album! I’m lovin it and so will my mom.

Da movie was made to pay tribute to GROTESQUE! Was so horrible. From the brains, to the eye balls, to the face to the torso and every single limbs to your insides to your genetils…OH MY GOODNESS…they smash them all in front of your face. No deeper storyline and plot was hovering over the surface to the max. 3.5/10 for such a horrible movie… I That 3.5 is strictly for make-up and costume!!!

Mood    : Happy                        Music     : "Wanna Be On Top" by Tyra Banks

Phew…after weeks of hard posing and heavy critism, Caridee finally made it to the top. So nervous man seeing her strutting her stuff on the runway cause I almost thought she was doomed. Thank goodness she owns really…really amazing pictures. Fun, bubbly and great personality, no wonder I was drawn to her.

CONGRATs CARIDEE. You deserve it!

Mood     : Accomplished                        Music     : "Chocolate" by Kylie Minogue

It wasn’t that bad, working on an assignment during the semester break. Pretty fun actually. Had so much to eat from beginning to the end. Arrived having cinnamon scones accompanied by a glass of apple juice mixed with strawberry crush. Went out for lunch and had prawn noodle. It was good. Went a little shoppin along the way and had chocolates as well as packets of cendols to pack.

Reached home and start filming our footages for editing next week. Went pretty well, though some of the things we did were rather tedious. While waiting for the camera to charge, we break for a time of cendol accompanied by apple Struddles. Amboi…it was delicious. Now this is waht I call mixing work with pleasure. Ooo…la…la :p

MOMMY’S DAY AT RIMBA SPA

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Mood     : Rejuvenated                        Music     : "Sweet Escape" by Gwen Stefani

We were hunting down for some of the famous spas in KL/PJ and decided to try RIMBA SPA in Royale Bintang K.L. Is actually under the same company, the one we usually go to at Royale Spa in Royale Bintang P.J. Only difference is that the premis is larger and the packages they offer are much more elaborate.

So yea, decided to treat mommy to a spa treatment for Mother’s Day and it was definitely the perfect gift for her. We alwayz love head to toe packages so we took the RIMBA MALAYSIA package that includes:
- Natural cucumber facial & massage
- Tongkat Ali body scrub
- Papaya body moisturizer
- Lavender oil body massage
- Herbal steam bath
- Jacuzzi Massage + mineral salt
- Candle ear waxing

We were given the KEDAH room. Altogether, this elaborate package lasted for 3hours and 30minutes, the longest record for both of us. As usual, hearing about the time may seem like eternity but when you’re actually in the cosy & warm room, relaxin and chillin, 3hours 30minutes isn’t that long. How much did it cost? Neh, doesn’t really matter! As long as both of us had a good time, its all worth it :p

HAPPY MOMMY’S DAY!

WAYANG KULIT WAS A SUCCESS…

Mood     : Accomplished                  Music     : "Lagu Orang Kampung" by Ensemble

Yay, the first half of the semester is over. Boy, it was rather packed the last two weeks. We are all heroes for being able to sustain it all. Great job everyone…

Wayang Kulit was awesome. Who knew traditional theatre can be so fun and challenging. I enjoyed it to da max and I’m so happy to be part of such an amazing ensemble. Everyone did their thing and really excel in their parts. Together, we created a masterpiece man… I played the KESI. By itself, gosh that instrument can really annoy you to the max. So loud and noisy that there can only be one KESI player in any ensemble. This Wayang Kulit showcase is part of our Traditional Malaysian Theatre practicuum.

Was little nerve-wrecking at first cause we had quite a lot in the audience today. Not only that, Pak Nasir prepared us in advance that there will be imprompto sessions here and there so we gotta be really focus and follow whatever cues that are given to us on the spot. All these on the spot improvisation is part of the evaluation. And yea, we are all gonna be graded based on our performance.

Farney how we are all given names other than our own by Pak Nasir. We have Nora (Jojo), Mus/Mustafa (Baloo), Faiz (Faiq), Ling (Charlene), Ah Loong (Bryant) and me…KOK KEONG, named after our very own badminton champion, Foo Kok Keong. Gonna miss the loveble and witty Pak Nasir. We learnt a lot from him in the short 6 weeks workshop. Happens every Saturday 10am - 2pm at Akademi Seni, Warisan & Kebudayaan (ASWARA)!

Kinda deft on the right ear now cause I was sitting beside the gong and my kesi was rather loud…-_-"

GREAT JOB EVERYBODY…

ADRIAN SHOWING SIGNS OF SANDMAN…

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Mood     : Exausted                                    Music     : "Girlfriend" by Avril Lavigne

Though it was crazee to be awake at 6am in the mornin today, I came to realization that I totally forgotten the cool experience of living in the mornin. While everyone is asleep, the peaceful and cool atmosphere at that time gives you a sense of serenity. I was on the LDP at 6.25am and the joy of driving on a clear LDP was overwhelming. So much so, I wish I did not arrive at my destination. And when you think the journey was awesome, you reach college and realize, oh my goodness, dark and empty. You leap with joy even more to find out you could actually park your car rite where you could touch college with your hands. Melissa lost to me this time round for being the earliest!!!

So yea, I was showing signs of becoming Sandman in Sek Thim’s Acting 1 class when he saw sand around my hips as I was working on my abs. I was wearing the pants I wore at Redang Beach and my pockets collected sand back to PJ. So whenever I sat in a tilted position with my legs up, my seat will be filled with white shiny sand. Cool eh? Of course the cleaning up wasn’t flattering at all…

BECKETTE & SOMETHIN STUPID…

Monday, May 7th, 2007

Mood     : Indifferent                            Music     : "Waiting For Tonight" by J.LO

I’m so happy 8 of Samuel Beckette’s plays were staged at Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka yesterday. Imagine killin 8 birds with one stone! Absurdist to da max alrite but nevertheless, thank goodness I’m trained to look beyond plays so there are things I caught from the pieces which was rather inspiring.

Wouldn’t have imagined I would bump into Melissa & Joe there. That was rather comforting and I was happy to see them there.

Thought it was overall simple but brilliantly staged. Loved the costume and make-up and wat the very dim lights were doing with the mood and highlighting portions of the actors.

Yea…and a very…very…very stupid thing happened that made me so angry with myself. I was just speechless and stunned when the "incident" was smacked rite into my face. Upset to the max I had to call it a day… Got over it liao anywayz so I’m so not gonna mention it in detail here. -_-;

SPIDERMAN 3 WAS SO ENGAGING…

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

Mood     : Happy                            Music     : "Sorry" by Madonna

Yay, get to complete the Spiderman trilogy today. Thought it was a movie full of moral fibre and advices that are pretty inspirational. The show was rather long cause they had to introduce like 3-4 characters at a go. Nevertheless, you’ll be rather surprised who is good, bad and ugly.

Stan Lee made his guest appearance as usual. Action was just so overwhelming for me. Practically, jump-out of my seat many times because when it came to the action sequences, it was just too fast for me to handle. Sounds like I’m giving a bad review but to be honest, the show was really entertaining and fun to watch. But at the same time, it kinda play with your emotions. Sometimes you find certain scenes cheesy but most of the time, the movie makes you feel for the characters. Everyone of them!!! So yea, book your tickets real early…

Love it…love it…8.5/10!!!
