Mood : Fulfilled Music : "Unfaithful" by Rihanna
The very 1st time I watched a play written by Harold Pinter, I came out feeling disgusted and almost wanted to puke. Of course, that happened when I was just a hatchling in the performing arts scene. I told myself, no way I’m watching another play written by that sick feller. That play was called "Homecoming"
Guess what? Today I BETRAYED my self-ego and went for another of his play called BETRAYAL! Ironic isn’t it? Few reasons I went for da play and I did not know what to expect from the show. All I know was, James Lee (might be my future lecturer) is directing da play and Bernice Chauly (also might be my future lecturer) is acting in da play. Of course, a special invitation by a very good old fren, Vernon, he is in da play as well.
So yea, to be honest, I really did enjoy da play. This is one play where you get loads of dialogues and details and dialogues and details str8 from da actor’s mouth. USUALLY, I get pening kepala and bored easily with plays like these. BUT not with this one. I was keen and drawn to every word that was coming out of the actor. I was getting an exceptional vibe from the way the actors deliver their lines and that made the difference. although, there was an occasional information overload sessions for me.
Watching Vernon on da floor was such a cool experience. Learned a lot from him. Gonna take me years to reach his level of expertise. And gosh, Bernice was full of attitude man. Also, wat an eye candy! These people are so calm and steady on stage man. Crazee…almost inhuman. All hats down to this two very power actors. This is my 3rd time watching Ari Ratos on stage and all I can say is…give me something new man!!!
I really think James did a good job with the piece. Love da way the story was delivered to us. Pretty sure his eye for details and technical knowledge made the story fun to watch. All hats down for you too.
As I was in da car recalling the story sequence, I realized it is 10Xs more interesting and fun to have da story told backwards than forward. Love da concept and the ending, gosh…so heart-warming and touching with the lcd picture display! It was da perfect ending. I felt dat Charlotte was da underlying theme of da show. she wrapped the show up! 8.5/10 ! Ok, da smoke and delay from prop changes just caused da show 0.5 marks! Aahahha…:p
