Mood     : Amazed                                    Music     : "Goodbye" by Wang Lee Hom

Thank you Lord for a wonderful…challenging and FRUITFUL year for VOICES MINISTRY. We went for 5 different mission trips across Malaysia in less than a year. Ulu Langat marks da last trip for 2006 and I truely wanna thank God for taking good care of us and helping us grow in him…time after time.

Da trip was absolutely worth while eventhough we din’t get to visit da waterfall and my car was paniking me to da max. Car heated up cause da auto fan refused to spin. Nevertheless, we prayed over da car and God sustained us throughout da hour long journey.

Is great to be able to bless da people there and see God put a smile on da orang asli faces. I had a good time eventhough da second half of da trip was channeled to da condition of my car. Everything is back to normal now. Car is serviced and cost us a bomb…

Cedrico, thankz for accompanying me throughout da day while waiting for da car. Had fun doing our "BOY TALK" session. Can’t wait for  da next swimming session.

Mood     : Relieved                            Music     : "Irreplaceble" by Beyonce Knowles

2 weeks of non-stop smokin in the air can really drive you nuts. Got sick in between. Thank God for heavy thunderstorm and strong winds. Da air is so much fresh and cleaner now. At least I can do more outdoor activities without worrying bout the safety of my precious lungs…Care for swimming or batting anyone ???

Mood     : Relaxed                                    Music     : "Fergalicious" by Fergie

I needed this one week break to recuperate and bring myself back together. Thank goodness I managed to get thru my mid-term last week. I think I did alrite judging from the constructive feedbacks given by my lecturers. Still able to submit my weekly contributions to R.AGE in the midst of the business and managed to nail down one orang asli trip on Saturday. Time for resting and start a new for things to come.

This is one relaxing break and I get to spend it with mommy. Yesterday she used her 1st Raya to do massage and facial. I din’t join her till da facial part cause I was out. We did our facial in Jurlique at The Curve and had dinner at Charms. I’ve been taking my 10 hours worth of sleep from within these 2 Raya holidayz and 2 hours worth of nap in between. Never forgotten all da warm ups and stretching exercises we learn in class. Still wanna keep my body fit and flexible for projects to come.

Today we went shopping and will be spending time watching dvd in our cosy living room. The next few dayz I’ll have to get my engines rolling cause I have a few pending assignments to work on AND owe Niki 5 articles… Adrian’s time management skills ? Ok lar…6.5/10 :p

BENTONG - BATU PALONG

Sunday, October 22nd, 2006

Mood     : Fulfilled                                Music     : "Aku Anak Raja" by Yvelyn Tang

Yesterday was an interesting experience for me cause we had a "last minute" trip to Batu Palong in Raub. Da journey was a 2 hour long one and we went there by van. Get to nap in da vehicle for an hour to freshen up myself. Da Guans family was with us together with da Tangs and Lows from Vancouver. Ser Keat joined us too.

So yea, da purpose of da trip was to encourage da leaders and da orang asli of da village. Yvelyn did a fun-filled time of praise & worship while I was given da pressure to share my testimony using the fannels (sticky pictorial thingy). I must say it was rather challenging for me cause da audience wasn’t responsive. Nevertheless, there were a few who were keen in voicing out so that made all da difference. I would say da trip was a good practice for me for any future projects to come. Also, a good time for me to polish up my Malay Language.

On da way back, Aunty Mag suggested we stop by at Bentong for da most "chun" ice-kacang & cendol stall. We said yes with open arms, eyes and tummy. Da cendol was absolutely thirst-quenching and heavenly. Topped with their own specialty, home-made pandan ice-cream, da dessert was flavourful and fragrant. Loved it…loved it. Even paid 10 bucks for a liter of pandan ice-cream to bring back home. Mommy loved it.

I had a good time although I get lecturing from mom for standing under da sun for some time. A little darker now and hopefully can go back to my usual tone in this one week of break!!! Hip hip hooray:p

Yeap, this BANANA is on a mission to MASTER one mandarin song and I have picked Huang Hun because this is the ONLY mandarin song that managed to pierce straight into my banana heart.

I have da song in my pc and handphone. I’ve got da han yi ping yin so I can read da lyrics. Now I need HELP from whoever to explain or tell me da meaning of da song. If possible, LINE by LINE. Direct translation would be a bonus. Thank you…I think by da end on 2006 I’ll be able to sing this song anywhere, anytime without needing da lyrics. Wish me luck !!!

October 8 - 10 was truly a fruitful retreat for me. It was also a blessing in disguise as I was given 2 dayz off from college without skippin a single class. First, Tuesday was a holiday for Selangor. Secondly, my Monday Characterization & Mask class was cancelled due to our senior’s production schedule. I happily packed my stuff (15 minutes b4 leaving for church!) and went with an open heart. It was a perfect escape for me from college, from the city and of course…the TERRIBLE HAZE.

The journey was rather long since we went by van. Gotta thank our kind drivers (Darren & Benji) for sending us there safely while we talk and sleep in the van. Oh, we stopped by some small town to eat HERBAL DARK NOODLE for lunch, that was awesome…My bowl was emptied within minutes because it was so delicious. The haze got lesser as we gradually went higher the mountains. By the time we got 091020060041
there, all we had was fresh cool air and beautiful scenaries.

The place that we stayed was called FAIR HAVEN. It is an old, single-storey bungalow with 5 rooms. Oh, altogether there were 13 of us youth leaders and members who went for da retreat. I manage to get a soft comfy bed since I don’t have a sleeping bag. And with my trusty mossie-guard, not a single mosquito dare to come close to me while I enjoy my sleep in the naturally air-conditioned environment. Because it was Mooncake Festival & 091020060151
Hari Raya Puasa, the market did not open on the day our caretaker had to go get groceries for our meals. Guess what ? We bought our own supplies all the way from KL. We had 8 whole chickens, 2 cartons of eggs, 3 long loafs of bread, rice and other necessaties.

Again, retreats are meant for us to relax, feast and have loads of fun. Indeed, that was what we did. Of course, as youth leaders, we need to receive some word as well to learn and encourage each other. Pastor Triphena was there to bring usCombine_0441
BACK TO BASICS and remind us to take the "RACE" seriously.

After all the long journey,  it is important that we take a trip around Cameron Highlands. We visited Cactus Valley,  Bee Farm, Brinchang Town market, Strawberry Farm and of course, Cameron Valley tea plantation. Mun Wai and Yvelyn was the number one champion in buying the whole Cameron Highlands home to KL. I basically bought 60 over strawberry popsicles to be distributed among friends and family members.

Pictures were taken at every possible angle. That was how we entertained ourselves and each other. I wonder whether we captured the essence of the Cameron Highlands ke or just our own essence. Either way, I definitely had a great time there with all my friends who are youth leaders in their respective churches.

Thank you Yvelyn for organizin this amazing trip. Thank you Benji and Mun Wai for the fun-filled/poser-filled photoshoot sessions. Thank you Munchkin and MegaMan for Combine_0471
giving us inspiration to compose your theme songs. Thank you Pearl, Andrew and Gibeon for your support and presence. Thank you Uncle, Aunty and Server for feeding us. Thank you Debbie for making so much noise…muahahaha…And da rest of you, thank you for all the encouragement and just for being there. MUAKS…
