Mood    : Happy                               Music     : "Because Of You" by Kelly Clarkson

Just for da record, this very blog of mine has hit da 100th mark on Chinese New Year’s day !!! Reunion dinner at granny’s was a smash. Good food and fun gathering with da aunties. Ate till I was so full I could not sit straight. Took a time out and played blackjack with everybuddy. Mom, gave me 2 bucks to kick start and half way along da game I managed to pay her back and play on my own. My grandpa had a great time winning all of our money. Ahaha…ended up lost my earnings to him. Neh, that was definitely petty cash that he won from me. My ang pows are enough to see me thru da festive seasons and is like only da beginning of da celebration…GONG XI FA CHAI everybuddy :P

BAKING, SPRING CLEANIN, & REFURNISHING LIKE CRAZEE !!!

Mood     : Satisfied                                     Music     : "Kiss You Goodnite" by LFO

It was 12am in da mornin and Adrian was feelin pretty restless. Cant sleep and just wanted do something. And then came Ms.Adeline to da rescue. Well, rescue me from boredom that is. Imagine this, da Chew ladies all baking pineapple tarts during graveyard hours. Spooky !!! Ahahaha…Invited me over so I could offer some "man-power" and indeed I went with an open-heart. Or should I say open-tummy ? Usually rite, when it comes to helping ppl to bake or cook, I will automatically be a food critique. Get to taste and try and try and try da product. We were all literally like aunties sitting in da kitchen talking bout everything while rolling pastries !!!

Dscn39041So COOL !!! Now I know how pineapple tarts are made. First, you roll pineapple jams on your palm into cute little balls. Then, wait for da chief baker to mix da pastry using only her secret ingredients. Once da mixture is complete, use both hands to massage and mold da mixture into dough. Not too hard or else you’ll loose da moisture. Then, start stuffin da dough into plastic mould and use both thumbs Dscn39071to press da dough out flat ! Put a cute little ball of pineapple jam on da flat pastry and start rolling it up gently. For beginners, use both hands to control da rolling. For experts like me, use one hand to roll it up while the other hand can be busy on da phone !!! And of course, leave it in da oven till da tarts become golden brown. And WALLAH, you have your very own HOME-MADE pineapple tarts ! :p

Dscn39171We baked from 12am till 4am !!! If I’m not wrong, this is da very 1st crazee thing I did for da year 2006 with Adeline. Went home and fell dead on my bed till 9am. Gotta send mommy to work cause dad need to go outstation for a while. Ran some errands for my parents and finally get to nap from 1pm till 4pm. Decided to go to Adeline’s place for second helping. Not eating more tarts of course, but help bake da second batch of tarts. Just when I was getting warm on my ass, my mom called to pick her up from work.

She wanted to leave office early so we can do some major spring cleanin at home as well as get fixture & fittings for da house. We’re doing a very good job in refurnishing da living room and dining hall. Really wish I could post da pictures here but then it would totally ruin da surprise element. I’m really happy with the result and can’t wait for my frens and relatvies to arrive. Ooo, so excited. Definitely a long day for me and most people I know cause it is like so close to Chinese New Year. All da best and have a very blessed GONG XI FA CHAI everybuddy !!! HUGZ :p

SHOWDOWN AT SHOGUN !!!

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

Mood     : Satiated                                            Music     : "Beep" by PussyCatDolls

Pic0002391Yeap, thats what DARREN titles it. SHOWDOWN AT SHOGUN Japanese Buffet Restraunt at 1Utama. It was definitely a wacky fun-filled gathering for Yvelyn, Darren, Debbie and Myself. Da food was awesome. Extra fresh sashimi…juicy tempuras and omg…CRISPY DUCKS…gosh, I ate crispy ducks at a Japanese restraunt. And seriously, one will not find just japanese delicasies in Shogun, there are also a wide array of fusions from Assam Prawns to beef stew and even lamb ribs !!!

Pic0002531Da atmosphere was perfect for a small gathering. We were having a blast just talking and talking and eating and drinking… One of us was havin fun PLAYING WITH "HER" OWN FOOD !!! While the "OTHER" was busy taking pictures of funny characters with "HIS" smart phone. And of course, when pictures are taken, we’ll have another person admiring "HERSELF" on da phone. Hmm, only 3 mentioned. so what was the other one doing ? Well, "HE" was basically laughing away at da whole scenario and at da same time stuffing ducks into his mouth while enjoying ever-flowing iced-lemon tea ;p

Pic0002641Reached there at 7.30pm and stayed at da restraunt till 10.45pm. Sure was long. Loads of eating and laughfing for all of us. I think it was da ice-cream that kept some of us going. Oh, and da hot milo as well…Bowl after bowl and glass after glass !!! Come to think of it, sometimes it can be quite COSMIC if you put a very farney statement together with a mouth full of food !!! Other times, it can be quite…quite…astrocious…if you put a disgusting fact together with a mouth full of food.

Pic0002671Even after da dinner, we still din’t wanna go home cause I guess we were all in da mood for a photoshoot session. It is almost Chinese New Year time and 1Utama  set up a fabulous set of a chinese town in da new wing. We have our flamboyant Ms.Phang taking pictures at every angle from cherry blossoms to a HOLE below da stage !!! Just wanna thank those two fine couple for helping us taking a group shot together and of course, saving da best for da last, THANK YOU YVELYN FOR DA WONDERFUL BUFFET. Muaks :p

THANKZ MS.KU FOR YOUR WARM HOSPITALITY !!!

Mood     : Speechless                                        Music     : "Hung Up" by Madonna

Dsc007201It was a beautiful Wednesday morning and Kah Leong put together a trip to Kota Kemuning to visit da PRINCESS’S PALACE !!! I’ve been wanting to go there for a long…long time since 2005 and never gotten da chance. Cant blame me for that since da area is kinda out of civilization…ahahahaha…!!! Think we left Mutiara Damansara at 11.30ish and arrived at around 12 something. Ming Yang and WERN Ching tagged along too. It was a fun journey.

Dsc007381And so, we arrived at the GRAND ENTRANCE of Kota Kemuning (Kemuning KINGDOM), passed by the ever talked about "lightless" park that we can’t do anything there, beautiful landscapes and busy shop lots. Then we took a turn and we were entering da bangalow areas. Gosh…all da lavish and diversified architectures and designs. Da people there really have taste. So much of renovations that you dun know exactly how da original house looks like.

Dsc007391Well, my jaw din’t dropped down like Kah Leong when I first laid my eyes on her house. Instead my eyes were just locked onto it and I was just plain speecless. Well maintained garden and almost close to episode 2 of da cactus farm. Da house was lovely. Full of windows giving da house plenty of sun light and da furnitures…omgoodness, I knew where they came from while da Princess had no clue !!! And she came up and greeted us with da "princess poise" look. Actually, she had soar throat…ahahaha…:p

Dsc007221Chit chat, took pictures, watched tennis, visited da corner shop for lunch and played UNO. Gosh, who knew dat game can be so much fun and gets your adrenalin pumping. I think it was because of da…da…ah yes..da INTERCEPT thingy. Poor Ming Yang kena SARBO kau kau !!! Oh, almost forgotten bout da Mango Jelly Shiou Wei personally made for us. Tasty. Thankz for inviting us to your humble home. Love to drop by again :P

CAMERON HIGHLANDS TRIP WAS RELAXIN & FUN TO DA MAX

Sunday, January 15th, 2006

Mood     : Relaxed                       Music     : "Drive Me Crazy" by Britney Spears

Cameron_trip_1101An excellent choice Mr. LIM MING YANG for going through da hard work in making this trip a reality and a successful one. I personally enjoyed myself and had a really peaceful…relaxin time throughout my stay in Wuthelam VILLA. Me and Ms.KU fell in love with da bangalow man…particularly da plastered floor and wooden ceiling. and da rooms were really like hotels. Lastly, thank God for water heaters !!!Da temperature there is cooling. Breezy cool morning…moist cool afternoons and freezin cold nites. Poor SEAN SEAN caught a terrible flu on da last nite. We both have sinus problem.

Cameron_trip_0851It is really LIVING to da max at da villa. Why ? Allow me to paint a clearer picture. We had BBQ on our 1st nite…ooo, lovely and warm, while having our dinner, Da caretaker and our personal chef consult us on our likings for our breakfast da next day. What to cook and what time to serve. Our western breakfast was fantastic…while eating..here comes da chef askin us bout lunch…We had rice andCameron_trip_0801 CRISPY sweet & sour pork plus veggie and soup…while having lunch…she needed to know what beverages we would like to go with our scones durin tea time. Durin teatime, she wanted to know what time we wanna have our steamboat for dinner. And while we were enjoying our hot and steamy tasty steamboat, she came to inform us that nasi lemak wil lbe served for breakfast da next day and wanted to know how we like our eggs to be done !!! Live to eat man !!!

Cameron_trip_0831Da 1st two dayz were interesting and wild. We stayed up till wee hours in da morning playing ALL KINDS OF GAMES…from Mahjong, to Ping Pong (Eric Tsang’s style), to PS2 games, to Dance Pad, to Big 2, to BANG…to FLUX to football…to photoshoot sessions, to Las Vegas style Poker to just lying flat on da sofa to munching snacks like crazee (expecially Choong Yi) and taking hot baths plus drinking beer to keep ourselves warm. Wow… we did a fair amount of trashing to da living room Cameron_trip_1321and dining hall but gosh, da very next day….you wake up and go downstairs…is like as if we were never there !!! Really learnt a lot of new games from AIK CHUNG…CHOONG YI and WEN CHING lor ! Life must be that boring in Melbourne huh ??? Aahahah…kidding :p Oh, MOZZIES in Cameron are extremely big and hospitable. They really make themselves at home and most of da gals were like buffet platters for da mozzies. Worst part ??? YVONNE around, cannot kill them…sigh !!! Still luv ya gal :p

Cameron_trip_0291Da last day was equally fun and it all started with a claypot hot BAK KUT TEH at Tanah Rata. We went to Kasimanis to get ourselves strawberry popsickles which was sooooooooooooo refreshing and shiok…then Bee Farm just to see what izit like and then Bharat Cameronian Tea Plantation for beautiful snapshot sessions. Da day b4, we went to cactus farm to see fresh plants from flowers to all kinds of cactus to interesting veggies. It was snap here and there for me to da max !!!

Dsc039901Overall, it was really a cool getaway for all of us. Definitely loads of laughter and fun involved among ourselves together gether. Would be nice if we could do it often but obviously it is strongly discouraged cause we’ll be spending like crazee !!! Once in a while is ok ler !!! Anywayz, lookin forward to Chinese New Year !!! Thankz a lot KAH LEONG for driving us all up and down Cameron safely in your lovely VIOS !!! :P

MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA WAS REMARKABLE !

Saturday, January 14th, 2006

Mood     : Fascinated                            Music    : "Kiss You Goodnight" by LFO

Geisha_1An outstanding masterpiece produced by Spielberg and directed by Marshall. A story touching on the human spirit and the strength of a human heart. This movie takes you deep into the world of a Geisha through the eyes of Sayuri (Zhang Ziyi), a girl who was sold as a slave to a Geisha house. Her meaningless life as a slave soon became an incredible journey of transformation to becoming a legendary Geisha of her day when fate brought Sayuri and the kind Chairman (Ken Watanabe) together. With plenty of guidance from Mameha (Michelle Yeoh) and nuisance from her archrival Hatsumomo (Gong Li), Saiyuri has to depend on her wits and skills that she has obtained to reach her ultimate goal kept in secret !!!

Geisha_2A big applause given to Zhang Ziyi and Gong Li’s performance in Memoirs Of A Geisha. They played their roles perfectly and managed to keep us audience glued to our seats. The script and dialogue was incredibly intelligent and funny at times. Pretty educational and at the same time entertaining to da max !!! As usual, MALAYSIA BOLEH with Datuk Michelle Yeoh playing a significant role in the production. I think she did a good job too except I kinda think her Japanese accent wasn’t quite impressive. And gosh, do take note of young actress Suzuka Ohgo who played young Sayuri. Her performance was notetable as well. LUV IT…LUV IT :P

Geisha_3I would give 8.5/10 points for this movie. Yes…yes it wasn’t shot in Japan at all but you seriously have to give them credit for making da location set so believeble and stunning at the same time. Costumes and props…you’ll probably wanna consider a Japanese theme for your house furnishing. Lastly, I personally think da show was gorgeous because of da flawless LIGHTINGS !!! Just go watch it. :p

MAHJONG MANIA !!! FINALLY…

Sunday, January 1st, 2006

Mood     : Intrigued                                            Music     : "I Still" by Backstreet Boys

Dsc03862First and foremost, a very special thankz to MING YANG for putting together this fun-filled gathering to usher in the year 2006 !!! Pretty interesting way to start da new year without getting caught in KL City or PJ Golden Triangle. As usual, a good party never fall short of FUN…FOOD & PEOPLE.

We had loads of junk food from TWISTIES to PRINGLES and ever-flowing soft drinks from PEPSI to COKE -_-" !!! Everybody and anybody from DA GROUP came, well ALMOST everybuddy. So what did we do for FUN ??? Some of da guyz were jamming away with da computer keyboard playing that very intense music bar game. I think is called O.T JAM !!! Then we had another group downstairs playing TENNIS on PS2 like CRAZEE !!! They were da loudest bunch. Oh, and this really weird game called BANG, dunno what on earth izit !!!

Then we have another group not too far away playing MAHJONG !!! Gosh, last year…errm…I mean 31st December 2005 (10pm onwards)…I was really lousy at da game. Keep on "CALLING" but somehow MS.KU or someone else will be winning da game. We played like so many rounds "last year" but I won like 2 or 3 times only. Then 2006 arrived and we changed da game a little. We played "counting points" and thats when I finally got da ball rolling and won 4 streaks of game IN A ROW !!! Pretty good way to start da year eh ??? Thankz to Wen Ching for suggesting LOGICAL WAYZ to throw my tiles. Really helped me to get da whole picture !!!
